Heading to First Dive Site

Posted 07.25.04 at 7:00 pm
Location: About 223 nautical miles west of Dutch Harbor, approaching the Andreanof Islands.

What it looks like: Water and waves to the horizon, with just a hint of sunshine trying to poke through a gray, overcast sky. The Revelle’s 3rd Mate, Michelle Jackson, judges the waves to be at 6-8-feet, with 16-knot winds.  Onboard, the science team is meeting in the main lab to make a final decision on the first dive site, which has changed since yesterday.
