Stream specialists assess state’s waters

A team of Alaska water quality scientists spent a few weeks this summer wading (and sampling) a couple dozen creeks in the state's smoky Interior, reports Alaska Science Forum.

The work was part of a larger Environmental Protection Agency program; over the next few years, Alaska scientists will go on to sample coastal waterways from Southeast and the Aleutians to the North Slope.
